The Basic – Juice

Juicing has become our new favorite food-related activity. (YoPop will always trump everything, though.) This is the basic juice I make when we just want something to go with dinner or as a second-breakfast.


  • 1/2 english cucumber
  • 1 whole bell pepper (red, yellow, or orange)
  • 4 apples
  • 2 fistfuls of full-sized carrots


  1. Wash produce. Discard tops and seeds if you are planning to use the pulp in muffins or other baking.
  2. Softer foods should go in first (cucumber and pepper) followed by firm produce (apples and carrots).
  3. Enjoy!

Tip: Line the pulp-catcher with a bag so you have one less thing to clean. I typically use a grocery/Target/Walmart bag. A ziploc is great to save the pulp in the fridge for later use. But make sure you use it that day…
