Canadians you probably didn’t know are Canadians

As I’ve lived here in Canadia for the past two and a half years, I’ve learned lots. I’ve learned how to properly use the word “eh.” I’ve learned that there are three periods in hockey… not very symmetrical if you ask me. I’ve learned that the Quebecois (pronounced Ke’behKWAH, those who live in Quebec) are quite proud of themselves, so much so that they would rather secede from Canada than remain one of it’s 13 provinces and territories. But I am constantly learning (maybe I should say realizing) more and more famous people are actually Canadians, especially in the comedy genre. So I thought I’d share some people you probably didn’t know are Canadians… you may be shocked but you’ll certainly be informed by the time you finish reading this!

Canadians you probably didn’t know are Canadians:

In the TV & Movies Category:

In the random Facts Section:

Music:

And some you probably do (should) know you know:

  • Mike Myers
  • Howie Mandel
  • Avril Lavigne
  • Alanis Morissette
  • Celine Dion
  • Michael J. Fox
  • Tom Green
  • Wayne Gretzky
  • Shania Twain

Is there anyone I’m missing? (Well, there’s lots of people who are famous in the adult industry, but I don’t think that’s something to brag about.) The Great White North has so much to offer! I hope to keep learning more and more.

  1. nice! i loved the commentary beside the names especially the Victor Garber one (cuz it was SO true. i was like who?? click on pic. ohhhh him). there were a few ppl on your list who I didn’t know were Canadian either.by the way, here’s this funny clip of Jim Carrey on the Ellen show, where he explains the use of the word “bush” instead of “forest” in Cdn lingo (fast forward to 5:30):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAwD_9XY5CA

  2. I didn’t know some of those people were Canadian!By the way, three periods in hockey is totally symmetrical (not that symmetry should be the measure of a sport’s validity, but anyways). Starting period, middle period, ending period. It’s perfectly mirrored from the mid point of the middle period. How is that not symmetrical? 😛
