a gray kind of day

I took this picture outside of our house today. It stopped raining for a bit this afternoon and the sun tried to come out. This is after about, oh I don’t know, 6 straight months of rain and clouds. I’m so ready for summer. It feels like it’s been cold and rainy since October.

I guess I’ll get my fill of warm weather this week. We’re headed down to Nicaragua tomorrow for the week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for us there!

After hearing all about the crazy weather lately in Myanmar and the southern States, it makes me ask the question: “Is this new? Or has extreme weather always existed like this, but we just never heard about it?”

With increasing technology, I can see pictures of the devastation within minutes on CNN.com. Friends of ours are even in Myanmar and the surrounding islands now.

It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with the constant barrage of bad news at home and abroad. But we can’t let it control our lives so much that our normal way of life is disturbed. Like the Beatles said, life goes on. La la la la life goes on.
